Ending the 2020 portion of their season in the middle of December, Dustin Howard’s Owensville Dutchmen wrestlers will finally get back at it this weekend opening 2021 at the Ste. Genevieve Varsity Duals Tournament.
Competing along with the host Dragons and Dutchmen will be Dexter’s Blackcats, Windsor’s Owls, Mehlville’s Panthers and the Valle Catholic Warriors also out of Ste. Genevieve.
Spectator guidelines will require masks be worn when entering the building. They also must be worn when moving around the facilities and when spectators are seated.
Ste. Genevieve officials recommend that families should sit together and strive to socially distance six feet from other families and visitors.
Wrestling will begin at 9:30 a.m., with five rounds of action on three mats.
Round one will pit Ste. Genevieve against Dexter, Mehlville against Windsor and Owensville taking on Valle Catholic.
Round two will see the Dutchmen face the host Dragons while Mehlville wrestles Dexter and Windsor matches up with Valle Catholic.
In round three, Ste. Genevieve will take on Windsor while the Dutchmen will battle Dexter and Mehlville squares off with Valle Catholic.
Round four action after a lunch break will see Ste. Genevieve take on Valle Catholic while the Dutchmen face Mehlville and Dexter matches up with Windsor.
The fifth and final round of wrestling will see Ste. Genevieve face off against Mehlville while the Dutchmen battle Windsor and Dexter matches up against Valle Catholic.
