Earl William VanScoy, 87, Dixon, passed away on March 5, 2022.

He was born on June 28, 1934, to Jacob and Dorothy (Corwin) VanScoy in Newark Valley, N.Y.

He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War.

Earl was united in marriage to Wanda Doyle, March 1, 1958 in Dixon.

He owned and operated Sinclair Service Station and Warehouse Tire serving the community of Dixon for many years. He served on the board of the MFA in Dixon, was president of the Khoury League and a baseball coach for seven years. He was a member of Seaton Faith Fellowship Church.

Earl was preceded in death by parents Jacob and Dorothy; and half-brother Harold VanScoy.

He is survived by wife Wanda; children Brenda Ridgeway and husband Jeff of Dixon, Linda Wagoner and husband Bob of St. Peters, Duane VanScoy and wife Donna of Vienna, and Glenda Emmons and husband Tony of Dixon; daughter Cindy Baldwin of La Crescent, Minn.; brother Donald VanScoy of Owego, N.Y.; and 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday (today), March 9, from 5–7 p.m. and Thursday, March 10, from 10–11 a.m. at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon, with funeral services following. Interment will be in the Seaton Cemetery near Dixon.

Memorials suggested to the Seaton Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund.
