Edith (Bernhardt) Halmich, 91, died May 10, 2020, at Mercy Hospice South De Greef Hospice House, St. Louis.
Edith had been a resident of Friendship Village Assisted Living, Sunset Hills for many years. She was born and raised in Gerald, graduated from Gerald High School and then Union High School. She was confirmed at St. Paul’s E&R Church in the class of 1943.
After her marriage to E. Myrl Halmich, they resided in the Japan area and later moved to St. Louis County.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Sophia (Ketterer) Bernhardt; brother Kenneth, her husband E. Myrl; and her son, Roger.
Surviving is a daughter, Sue Ochesky, three grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held June 20, at 11:30 a.m. at the pavilion in Buder Park (Highway 141 and I-44). Lunch will follow.
