Edward “Eddie” Douglas Arnold, 55, Owensville, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022, at his residence in Owensville.
He was born July 7, 1966, to Virgil and Maxine (Robbins) Arnold in St. Louis.
Eddie graduated from Belle High School in 1984 and furthered his education at the Missouri Auction School. He was the owner/operator of Arnold’s Auction Service. He was very passionate about auctioneering, and spent many volunteer hours utilizing his voice at numerous local fundraisers and Relay for Life live auctions. He also supported the local 4-H and FFA organizations. He worked as a machinist at different places for over 30 years and also acquired his real estate license.
Eddie loved getting to know people, the outdoors, studying about antiques, listening to live music, and watching football.
He was preceded in death by parents Virgil and Maxine Arnold; and sister Linda Arnold.
He is survived by son Joshua Arnold of Columbia; brothers Lee Arnold and wife Sandy of Belle, Dennis Arnold and wife Janet of Imperial, Daryl Arnold and wife GiGi, and Larry Arnold all of Bland; nieces Ronda Robert and Jessica Arnold and husband John; nephew Andrew Arnold and wife Emily; and special friend Cindy Barbarick and daughter Jessica Vaughn.
A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, May 21, at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home, Owensville. His body was cremated and his ashes will be spread over Reelfoot Lake, Tenn., at sunset as his last wish, a location that held a special place in Eddies’ heart.
