Edwin “Ed” Louis Langenberg, 87, Drake, passed away Thursday, Aug. 20, 2020, at Gasconade Manor in Owensville.

He was born Aug. 6, 1933, to Edwin L. and Alma L. (Schalk) Langenberg, in Drake.

Ed graduated from Washington University in St. Louis earning his CPA. He went to work for Arthur Anderson for many years, then to work for May Company, and later the Schoenberg family until his retirement at the age of 70. Ed loved gardening, entertaining and working outdoors. He restored the buildings at Drake surrounding his home. He was a member of the Gasconade County Historical Society and St. George Catholic Church in Hermann.

He was preceded in death by parents, Edwin and Alma; and brother-in-law, Charles Lambert.

He is survived by dear friend, Jim Froesel of Ballwin; sister, Geneva Lambert of Columbia, Ill.; nieces, Debbie Daly of Clayton, Peggy Suzor and husband Wes of St. Louis and Mary Jenniches and husband Michael of Alton, Ill.; great-nieces, Abby Zoia and husband Michael of St. Louis and Claire Jenniches of Chicago, Ill.; great-nephews, Andrew Guinn and wife Brittany of O’Fallon and Corey Jenniches of Alton, Ill.; and great-great-nephews, Charles and Alex Zoia.

Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. George Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 1 p.m. with Monsignor Greg Higley officiating. Burial will be at the Owensville City Cemetery. Memorial contributions suggested to Gasconade County Historical Society.

Visitation and services are open to the public. However, due to COVID-19 virus concerns, attendees are asked to practice social distancing. The family requests that masks be mandatory.
