Scott Eiler was sworn in Monday morning as interim Gasconade County Sheriff by Associate Circuit Judge Ada Brehe-Krueger in the refurbished second-floor courtroom. Eiler takes command of the sheriff’s patrol as of today (Wednesday) replacing Mark A. Williams who is stepping aside to allow the presumptive sheriff-elect to reorganize his staff prior to the beginning of his term on Jan. 1, 2021. Eiler, who won the Republican party Primary nomination, is unopposed on the Nov. 3 ballot. Eiler receives congratulations from County Clerk Lesa Lietzow after the swearing-in ceremony. Eiler shows his wife, Breanna, and their three children, his office following the brief ceremony. He will be sworn in as sheriff later this year. Eiler, a former sheriff’s deputy for the county, has been working for the Hermann police department.
