Ellis Mackenzi Walker passed away peacefully in her mother and father’s arms on Friday, May 27, 2022, at Children’s Hospital, St. Louis. She was 2 yrs, 21 days old.

Ellis spent most of her short life battling the disease of osteopetrosis. She was a fighter to the very end. Though her time with family was short, she touched many lives and was loved deeply by those around her.

Ellis loved making animal noises, especially when you would ask her, “What does a kitty cat say?”, “Meo”. “How about a chicken?”, *softly* “Bock, bock, bock.” Also, when you would ask her, “How much is that doggy in the window?” she would say gently “woof, woof.” We learned so much from her sweetness in her short time on earth, such as her sign language skills; when she would look up at you with those big beautiful eyes and long eyelashes and ask for “more.” Or when she would give you a little grunt, because she didn’t like something, we would direct her to say “No thank you” as well as “please” and “drink” which she would respond to with the soft motions of her tiny hands. She had a love for her puppies, Henry and Hank, who she would call for with a soft pat on her thigh. You could ask her, “What does Pops always say?” to which she would reply, almost sarcastically, “yak yak yak yak.” We will cherish her memory in our hearts forever and keep her spirits with us daily.

She was preceded in death by great-grandparent Darwin Schulte; great-great-grandparents Ruby Bossaller, Robert Templeton, William Walker, Bobby Jo and Anna Mae Duncan.

She is survived by parents Austin and Bailea Walker of Owensville; grandparents Dwayne and Teresa Schulte of Owensville, Adam and Jeanette Walker of Leslie; great-grandparents Darline Schulte, Vickie Holzschuh, Paul Holzschuh of Owensville, Glen and Reta Templeton of Gerald, Ernie and Linda Walker of Eureka; great-great-grandmothers Helen Templeton and Jean Walker; aunts and uncles Dustin and Dillon Schulte, Katelynn (Derrick) Tyree, Cambell Schulte also known as “CC”; Aaron (Alison) Walker, Cordell and Cael Walker, and her “Gigi,” Gayle Hinch; as well as many other family and friends that loved her so much.

Now in God’s hands and forever in our Hearts.

Memorial Services will be Wednesday (today), June 1, at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Owensville, with Pastor Glen Templeton and Rev. Kevin Sullivan officiating. Burial will be at the Owensville City Cemetery.
