Erna V. Borcherding, 94, Washington, passed away on Feb. 28, 2022.
She was born July 26, 1927, daughter of the late Julius Vohs and Ida nee Glaser, in Owensville.
She was united in marriage to Alfred Borcherding, Aug. 20, 1949, at St. Peter’s U.C.C. in Owensville.
Erna received her education from Owensville High School, graduating in 1945.
She was preceded in death by parents Julius and Ida; husband Alfred Borcherding; and siblings Henry Vohs, Alvin Vohs, Frances Seal and Lauralie Mohesky.
She is survived by children Brad Borcherding and wife Lolita of New Haven, Kim Lapeyre of Washington, and Lisa Housson and husband Joe B. of Houston, Texas; grandchildren Greg Cox and wife Jackie of Pine, Colo., Elizabeth Jasper and husband Jeff of Wentzville, Christopher Lapeyre of Fulton, Jonathan Lapeyre and fiance Brenda Cisneros of College Station, Texas, Ryan Lapeyre of Washington, Jacob Housson and wife Lindsey of Cypress, Texas, and Tracy Kepp and husband Travis of Pinehurst, Texas; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 19, from 1–3 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home, Washington, with a memorial service beginning at 3 p.m. Memorials suggested to Franklin County Honor Flight or charity of choice.
