At 8:30 a.m on Friday, Dec. 6, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, along with members of the Multi-County Narcotics and Violent Crimes Enforcement Unit assembled. Sheriff Steve Pelton reported they served a search warrant in the 7600 block of Highway 47 in Union.

Information had been obtained through an extensive investigation concerning sales, manufacturing and distribution of narcotics.

While conducting the search warrant, several items, including approximately 50 beans of fentanyl and approximately two grams of methamphetamine were located throughout the residence.

While on the scene, a male subject, 39, of Union and a 43-year-old female, also of Union, was taken into custody.

Pelton says the names of the two subjects are being withheld pending formal charges.
