The Gerald-Rosebud Fire Department is mourning the loss of one its own.
Seven-year department veteran, Walter (Wally) Weiss, 54, died Monday, April 26, after a long battle with cancer.
During his seven years as a firefighter, Wally had the best meeting and training attendance in the department.
His peers described him as a great engineer and a great man.
In a tribute to Weiss, the department wrote, “We love you brother. Rest easy, we will take it from here.”
His survivors include his brother, GRFD Fire Chief Warren Weiss.
