The Gerald location of First Bank will close its doors at the close of business Friday. When the bank reopens Saturday morning, it will be as First State Community Bank (FSCB).

Luke Roussin, marketing director at FSCB told the Republican that they are happy to become part of the Gerald community. “We are truly a community bank and we will do our best to be good corporate citizens,” he stressed.

Roussin said that all staff currently working at Gerald’s First Bank location will stay on through the transition.

Customers have already begun receiving new debit cards to use with FSCB. Starter packs of checks should be received sometime this week. Online and mobile banking with FSCB will be available after 8 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17.

Doug Dunlap will serve as manager of the Gerald branch, according to Roussin.

Customers were reminded to change bank account information with online vendors, direct deposits and automatic payment systems. While customer account numbers will remain the same, the routing number-—which identifies the bank—will change.

After Aug. 17, Social Security recipients should also call the Social Security Administration (800-333-1795, Option 3) to update their routing number for direct deposit payments.

The Care Center team at FSCB is available from 8 a.m.-10 p.m., 7 days a week. They can be reached at 888-912-2335.
