First set of bridge girders set on T

Posted

KCI Construction with help Oct. 3 from ironworkers from K&N Steel and Taylor Excavating’s crane crew set two sets of three concrete girders for the new Route T bridge over the Bourbeuse River. The longer girders weighed in a 91,000 pounds each spanning the section over the water. The ones on north end weighed 75,000 pounds each. Workers also had repeat visits from a neighborhood dog who received a scratch on the head with a carpenter’s pencil and french fries from the Taylor crew.
