A “Blue Lives Matter” flag display flies Monday in front of the new Owensville police station building along Highway 28 West as city officials and Owensville Chamber of Commerce members gather for a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the grand opening of the $1.1 million facility. The display was placed by Melburn Branson, of Owensville, Fran Herrington, of Bland, and her daughter-in-law, Roxy Herrington, of Owensville, all shown walking toward the ceremony. City Marshal Robert Rickerd said 52 people attended an open house Monday morning at the new police station. Branson said he was a “patriot who supports all law enforcement.” Herrington, who runs the local business Roxy’s Flags, provided the flags.
