The home of Tyler and Cheri Kramme, at 601 South First Street in Owensville, sustained moderate damage from a fire early Nov. 27. The fire was discovered at 4 a.m. by an Ameren Missouri electric line crew in the area working to repair downed power lines caused by high winds overnight. According to an insurance investigator for the Kramme family, the cause of the fire in the southeast corner of the home was electrical and was most likely fueled by strong winds. Local volunteers from the Owensville Fire Department were able to quickly extinguish the fire. The house had recently been purchased from Danny and Joann Helms and was vacant at the time of the fire. Also assisting were members of the Belle Fire Department. Firemen remove siding (right) to make sure fire had not spread up the exterior sheeting of the residence. A hole was evident in the corner of the structure. Ameren lineman make their repairs (top) in an alley off of First Street.
