Founding Fathers Would Change the Way We Choose the President

Posted

In creating the United States of America, the Founding Fathers had ways of distributing influence and power among the states so that all could feel on equal footing with the others and truly buy into being part of the new nation. The way they decided to allocate Electoral College votes for president was part of this effort.
Today, the Electoral College “equalizer” is, in fact, creating disparities.
Look at where the candidates campaign to win a handful of tossup states.
Look at the amount of advertising money that is spent on winning a handful of tossup states.
Look at the issues that become important after the election for rewarding a handful of tossup states.
The Founding Fathers would not like this. I am confident that they would, in their wise ways, figure out a new method of choosing the president, like the National Popular Vote. Check it out: www.nationalpopularvote.com.Regards,
