Over the weekend in Cuba, all six Owensville Girls Volleyball Club (OGVC) teams competed in their respective fourth, fifth and sixth-grade tournaments held at Cuba Middle School (CMS) and Cuba High School (CHS).

This is the first time this spring that all six volleyball teams have played at the same venue over a weekend.

Any other year, this would have been the second time this occurred but Owensville’s annual home volleyball tournament was canceled due to scheduling conflicts with gym availability.

Owensville’s Orange fourth-grade volleyball team won one set during pool play but did not advance to bracket play Friday night in Cuba.

Team members include Ollie Ray, Reagan Tainter, Emma Rhoads, Tynzlee Thomas, Ayla Eiler, Reagan Tucker, Cami Ridenhour, Anna Belle Pendleton and Kambria Krupp.

Owensville Black’s fourth-grade volleyball team placed second in their pool before falling to Belle in the semifinals.

Making up Owensville’s black team are Abby Corbitt, Bella Cobb, Kayla Hall, Lydia Schaning, Bryli Blaue, Aubree Stockton, Halle Hengstenberg, Ellie Albright, Karley Jones, Lylah Manson and Audrey Little.

Saturday morning, Both the Owensville Orange and Black fifth-grade volleyball teams placed second in their respective pools and wound up facing each other in the first round of bracket action.

Making up Owensville’s fifth-grade orange volleyball roster are Nora Clancy, Kendra Sullinger, Lydia Barnwell, Allison Evans, Jewel Draheim, Zoie Barnes, Kylie Tucker, Sophia Terrell and Jordyn Crosby.

Owensville’s fifth-grade black volleyball roster consists of Caylie Gromer, Gemma Hecht, Jorja Johnston, Charlie Tayloe, Kat Buhr, Ellie Bay, Kiera Hamm, Kara Downing, Adelyn McDonald and Khloe Thomas.

Owensville Orange won that match before being eliminated by eventual tournament champion Cuba in the semifinals.

Concluding the a full weekend of volleyball in Crawford County was sixth-grade tournament action.

Placing second in their respective pools, both the sixth-grade Owensville Orange and Black volleyball teams advanced to bracket play.

Owensville Orange was eliminated by St. Clair in the first round before the Lady Bulldogs fell to Sullivan in the semifinals.

Making up the Owensville Orange volleyball roster are Amelia Lawrence, Savannah Grube, Brianna Bodine, Ellie Koebel, Lilly Limberg, Brooke Tainter, Kinley Troncin, Isabella Bingaman, Meredith Reed and Madi Thomas.

Owensville Black defeated Union in two sets during first-round action before dispatching Steelville in two sets during the semifinals to advance to the championship match against Sullivan.

Turning back the Lady Eagles in two sets (20-12, 20-18), Owensville Black overcome splits in pool play against Steelville and Sullivan to bring first-place medals back north up Highway 19.

Sixth-grade Owensville Black volleyball team members include Makala Tayloe, Clara Brune, Kyler Brooks, Kensli Pfeiffer, Brailie Crosby, Lylah Koch, Adalynn Womack, Kodi Schlottach, Jordan Duncan, Anieya Bergesch, Kinley Harness, Leighton Chambers and Kylie Barnes.
