Gary Lee Hinson, 75, Cuba, passed away Monday, April 7, 2025, at the Missouri Veterans Home in St. James.
He was born July 24, 1949, to the late Herbert and Irene (Busen) Hinson in Franklin County.
He enjoyed fishing, cars and car racing, playing his guitars and banjos, and listening to bluegrass music.
Gary especially enjoyed ice cream from the Bem picnic.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and served in the Army Reserve and National Guard until 1990.
Gary was preceded in death by parents, Herbert and Irene.
He is survived by children, Jason Hinson and wife Jennifer and Shylee Reed and husband Daniel, all of Owensville and James Hinson and wife Grace of Steelville; brothers, Terry Hinson and wife Laura and Michael Hinson and wife Cathy, all of Owensville; sisters, Linda Hinson of Cuba and Dawn Leslie and husband Mike of Cedar Hill; grandchildren, Nicholas, Kaylie and Phoebe Hinson; and many more family and friends.
His body was cremated and a private family service will be held at a later date.
