Gary William Wenkel, 69, Owensville, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020, at Frene Valley in Owensville.
He was born Oct. 12, 1951, to Stanley and Zeldean (Brandhorst) Wenkel, in Washington.
He was united in marriage to Marian Lutz, March 23, 1974, in Tipton.
Gary worked as a safety and human resources supervisor for Laclede Christy/Emhart Glass in Clay Refactoring. Gary loved going to his grandchildren’s activities, enjoyed old cars and was a member of the GTA Car Club. He was a member of Gasconade County School Board for eight years and served on the Owensville City Council. Gary was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Owensville and belonged to the Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by parents, Stanley and Zeldean.
He is survived by wife, Marian, of Owensville; children, Tesa Harrison and Tammy Alfultis and husband Bryan, all of Jefferson City, and Timothy Wenkel of Rogersville; and six grandchildren, Landon, Emily, and Kenadi Harrison and Maddox, Isla and Tate Alfultis.
Visitation will be Sat., Jan. 2, 2021 from 9-11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Owensville.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, Jan. 2, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Owensville with celebrants Fr. Wayne Boyer and Fr. James Finder. Burial was in Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Owensville.
