Gasconade County Commission Minutes

The Gasconade County Commission met with Presiding Commissioner Larry Miskel at the Courthouse beginning with Pledge of Allegiance.

PRIOR MINUTES

Commissioner Jerry Lairmore made a motion to approve prior commission minutes dated Sept. 17, 2020. Commissioner Jim Holland seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote:

Larry Miskel (Yes).

WARRANTS FOR PAYMENT

Commissioner Jerry Lairmore made a motion to approve the following items: warrants for payment 116117 through 116129. Commissioner Jim Holland seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote:

Jim Holland (Yes),

Larry Miskel (Yes).

ROAD CONCERNS AND COMPLAINTS

Commissioner Lairmore said road department has both bridge projects being worked on and they are stockpiling gravel now that it is dry. Commissioner Holland reported working with some property owners on a few issues.

Commission received an invoice from Archer‑Elgin Engineers for BRO project on Valentine Ford road in the amount of $5,129.13.

GENERAL DISCUSSION

Presiding Commissioner Miskel reported as a follow‑up to last week’s minutes regarding community service workers; he contacted Hermann City Administrator Mark Wallace and asked for their consideration in taking over the workers that are charged within the city limits and Administrator Wallace said he will take the request to the city attorney. Commissioner Lairmore said now that Owensville City Hall has opened back up after their shutdown due to COVID‑19, he will ask them the same question.

Commissioner Holland had some questions after reviewing warrants for payment regarding what he considered excessive charges for a printer set up and for the fire alarm panel testing process; Clerk Lietzow said she had already called about the fire alarm panel invoice because she questioned it also, but did not get any satisfaction so he will make a call too.

Commissioner Lairmore said he is meeting with EMD Dan Dyer today to clean out the mobile command post that the county has for sale online with Purple Wave; anything worth keeping will be stored until sold. Clerk Lietzow had spoke with Director Dyer about the panic button test and he suggested custodian should be able to go around the building to each office, find each button, change the battery and then test to be sure Hermann PD receives the signal. Presiding Commissioner Miskel suggested scheduling with them in advance so it is not a busy time.

Treasurer Mike Feagan reported receiving a separate interest earned notice from Missouri Department of Revenue for sales tax in the amount of $520.00.

Clerk Lietzow said the swearing‑in of Interim Sheriff Scott Eiler is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 28, 2020, at 9 a.m. by Judge Ada Brehe‑Krueger here at the Courthouse.

Last issue Commission had was to approve an application received from MRPC for CARES Act funds for Gasconade County R‑2 School district in the amount of $70,715.35; Commission approved and gave to Treasurer Feagan for payment.

Commissioner Jerry Lairmore made a motion to approve application for CARES Act funds from Gasconade County R-2 School District. Commissioner Jim Holland seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote:

DELINQUENCY IN PAYMENT OF LOCAL SALES TAX

Commission received for file a notice from Missouri Department of Revenue of revocation of sales tax license due to delinquency in payment for Melba D. Rohan, 500 E. Hwy. 28, Bland, MO.

ADJOURN

Commissioner Jerry Lairmore made a motion to adjourn commission until Oct. 1, 2020. Commissioner Jim Holland seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned.
