Between Oct. 21-26, the Gasconade County R-2 School District has quarantined 36 students and staff members and had two confirmed positive COVID-19 cases.
In letters sent out to parents and guardians by Superintendent Dr. Chuck Garner between Oct. 21-26, one Owensville High School student and one transportation staff member tested positive for COVID-19.
One staff member from Gerald Elementary was asked to quarantine due to possible exposure from an outside source; seven Owensville Elementary School (OES) students were quarantined due to possible exposure from an outside source, while two more OES students were asked to quarantine due to exposure from another student.
Another six Owensville Middle School (OMS) students were asked to quarantine due to exposure from a positive case from a fellow student, while one additional OMS student was asked to quarantine due to outside exposure. Due to the positive OHS COVID-19 case, 19 OHS students were asked to quarantine due to exposure.
