George Melvin Johnson, Jr., 58, Belle, passed away Saturday, Aug. 6, 2022 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City.
He was born Feb. 25, 1964, a son to the late George Melvin, Sr., and Linda (Seba) Johnson in Independence.
He attended Warsaw school system as a child.
George was united in marriage to Connie Perkins, Aug. 3, 1985. Connie survives of their home in Belle.
Before George lost his sight, he was employed at Asplundh Tree Service in Kansas City for over 12 years. He loved breaking horses, helping take care of the family farm, hunting and fishing. He had a great sense of humor and loved visiting with friends and telling stories. His greatest joy was time spent with family.
George was preceded in death by parents George and Linda.
He is survived by wife Connie; sons Dylan Johnson of Belle and Adam Johnson of Licking; grandson Evan Johnson; brother David Johnson and wife Deena of Bristow; sister Kim Light of Lowery City; as well as many extended family members and friends.
A celebration of George’s life will be held at a later date.
