The Gerald Area Library will be offering Book Bingo each Wednesday, beginning Oct. 16, from 11 a.m. to noon.
The game is free and open to anyone.
Mostly books will be offered as bingo prizes, but other small items will be available to be claimed by the winners.
Marianne Netscher, president of the library’s board of directors, says she hopes the bingo will bring book lovers together for a little fun.
There have been many changes at the library, including a lot of cleaning and rearranging.
An adult area has been created with comfortable seating, newspapers and magazines.
The library plans to begin selling coffee for $1 per cup. The coffee can be enjoyed in the new adult reading area.
The library’s bookstore, located adjacent to the library, has also been reorganized. The bookstore is open to the public the third Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Customers can also stop by during the library’s hours of operation and the librarian can open the bookstore for browsing.
The bookstore is literally bursting with good used books. The library has recently begun listing some of the used books with online sellers. This extra income will help cover operating costs of the all-volunteer, all-donation library.
