According to a release from Franklin County Sheriff Steve Pelton, Ashley R. Ambrecht, 37, from Gerald was caught with drugs when entering the Adult Corrections Facility.
Pelton says Ambrecht was being booked into the jail to complete a court ordered weekend sentence.
During the intake process, a female deputy searched her and found Oxycodone pills.
Ambrecht did not have a prescription for the pills and admitted to trying to get them into the jail for another inmate, according to Pelton.
A warrant was issued for Ambrecht who has been charged with a felony of delivery or possession of a controlled substance in a county jail.
A cash only bond has been set at $10,000.
Pelton says his department purchased a body scanner in 2020 to provide an extra layer of security in keeping contraband from reaching the jail confines. This helps provide a more safe and secure environment for both inmates and staff.
