Heather M. Tatkenhorst, 35, of Gerald was killed after being struck by a train while laying on the tracks.
The accident occurred at 11 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, near Jefferson City Subdivision in Cole County near the Osage River. This was at the railroad mile pole 117.
Shawn D. Rogers, 50, of Bonne Terre was driving the Union Pacific EMD SD70AH train.
The accident report filed by Tpr. J. H. Vislay with Troop F of the Missouri State Highway Patrol gave no indication of why she was laying on the railroad tracks.
Tatkenhorst was pronounced dead at the scene by Cole County Sheriff’s Deputy Becca Rusk at 11:20 p.m.
