Glenda Yvonne Gardner, 83, Washington, formerly of Berger, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at Mercy Hospital, Washington,
She was born July 22, 1937, to Theodore and Helen (Alberson) Barnett, in Fayette, Ala.
She was united in marriage to Elijah “Buck” Arie Gardner, Sept. 13, 1955, in New Madrid.
Glenda was a member of Church of Christ in Union. She worked as a seamstress for Langenberg Hat Factory in Berger.
She was preceded in death by parents, Theodore and Helen; husband, Buck; sons, Royce and Anthony Gardner; and three sisters and six brothers.
She is survived by sons, Randall Gardner and wife Deborah of Berger, Jeffrey Gardner Sr. and wife Zina of Washington and Christopher Gardner and wife Melissa of Clearfield, Penn.; daughters-in-law, Debbie Dover of Berger and Anita Koelling of Owensville; sisters, Eloese Henson of Florida and LaGuin Barnett of Bland; brother, Alton Barnett of California; 17 grandchildren; and 30 great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Monday, April 5, at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home in Hermann. Burial was at St. John’s Cemetery Berger. Memorial contributions suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
