Sgt. Jason Weggemann (above, left) and Deputy Ronald Burgess (above, right) received the Medal of Valor award from Gov. Mike Parsons for their heroic actions to save their lives and the potential lives of innocent civilians during a law enforcement ambush which occurred March of 2020. Both men are with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Steve Pelton says the two ended the threat caused by a gunman. Pelton also commended all responding first responders that assisted with the injured deputies and the scene that day.
