Saturday, July 24, a call in to the Beaufort-Leslie Fire Department (BLFD) that a group of floaters on the Bourbeuse River had become separated. Some in the party could not be located. As the BLFD responded at the area near Laubinger Ford Road in Leslie, they requested assistance from the Gerald-Rosebud Fire Department (GRFD). Members of the GRFD responded to the scene with their boat and water rescue team.
After searching for a couple of hours the crew located the lost individuals. They had made a makeshift camp and were waiting for help to arrive.
No injuries were reported by either those rescued or the rescuers.
