Gridiron district scenarios

After Friday night, every football team in the state of Missouri will start with a clean slate per say.

That is because Friday, Oct. 28 will mark the start of district tournament action in football throughout Missouri.

For Nathan Cabot’s Owensville Dutchmen, they currently occupy the third spot in the Class 3, District 4 standings.

A victory in St. Clair Friday night would not only bump them into the second slot, it would also keep Sullivan’s Eagles in the top spot giving them a first-round bye.

In the event St. Clair stays in second place ahead of Owensville, the Bulldogs would overtake Sullivan for the top seed in the district due their 27-14 victory over the Eagles back in mid-September.

Even if St. James were to somehow overtake the Dutchmen after Friday’s action, Owensville would still be the third seed thanks to their 42-8 victory over the Tigers back in week four.

If this Friday were the opening round of districts, Cabot’s Dutchmen would be hosting Principia’s Panthers.

A win by the orange and black could mean they host Salem’s Tigers as the second seed next Friday night.
