Harry Allen Pointer, 83, Owensville, passed away Monday, May 31, 2021, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.

He was born July 15, 1937, to Buell and Vivian (Smith) Pointer, in Belle.

He was united in marriage to Sandra Kottwitz Sept. 20, 1958, at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Owensville.

Harry was a member of Zion Evangelical Free Church. He had served on the church board and the Gasconade County Fair Board for many years. He also helped at Helping Hands Outreach. He retired from Beaufort Transfer Co. and was a etired Honorary Member of the International Brotherhood of the Teamsters Local #682. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Buell and Vivian; brother, Bill Branson; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Branson.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sandra; daughters, Desiree Hale and husband Darrell of Linn and Shawn Wehmeyer and husband Gary of Owensville; brother, Bob Branson of Linn; sister, Jane Fredendall and husband Bob of Washington; sister-in-law, Juanita Branson of St. Louis; grandchildren, Trent Sellers, Ryan Sellers and wife Amanda and Megan Branson and husband Danny, all of Owensville, Nicole Huls and Sam Baker, Danielle Steinbeck and Brent Maness and Tucker Hale and wife Jessie, all of Jefferson City, Shannon Short and husband Bryan of Union and Amanda Hackstedt and husband Brad of Gerald; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 12 from 9-11 a.m. at Gottenstroeter Chapel in Owensville. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel with Randy Crowe officiating. His remains will be interred in Owensville City Cemetery. Masks are suggested. Memorials requested for family’s choice.
