Helen May Wenkel, 86, Holts Summit, formerly of Owensville, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at Villa Marie-Stonebridge Senior Living in Jefferson City
She was born Feb. 18, 1934, to William and Carrie (Krause) Wotipka, in Owensville.
She was united in marriage to Sanford William Wenkel, May 31, 1952, in Owensville.
Helen was a member of Harvest Ministries of Holts Summit. She enjoyed fishing, playing bingo, working with her flowers, going to the gambling boat and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents, William and Carrie; husband, Sanford; son, Mark Wenkel; and brothers, Ralph, William, Glen and Jerry Wotipka.
She is survived by son, Terry Wenkel and wife Jackie of Russellville; brother, Neil Wotipka of Georgia; grandchildren, Sandy Withers and husband Gare of New Bloomfield, Jack Wenkel and wife Jennifer of New Bloomfield and Jason Wenkel and wife Shannon of Gerald; and 10 great-grandchildren and one great, great-grandson.
Private services will be held and burial will be in Countryside Memorial Gardens in Owensville. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Gottenstroeter Funeral Home, Owensville.
