Franklin County Sheriff Steve Pelton has confirmed bones found in the 600 block of Turkey Run Road, St. Clair were human remains.
His office was notified of a discovery of bones on the morning of Sunday, March 22. Detectives and Crime Scene investigators conducted an extensive search of the wooded area where the bones were found.
The remains were transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office for further investigation.
The identity of the victim is unknown at this time. There was a missing person reported in 2010 who lived a about a quarter of a mile from where the bones were discovered. That person’s next of kin was make aware of the discovery.
