OWENSVILLE — At Monday’s Board of Aldermen meeting, two items were approved to be put up for bidding as surplus property: a 2010 Jeep Compass and basket lockers from Winter Water Park.
With the recent purchase of a new Ford Edge, the city has decided to put their 2010 Jeep Compass up for bids. At around 63,000 miles, the one-owner vehicle may put some money back into the city’s funds. Having a trade-in value of only $2,000 and an estimated Kelley Blue Book value of $4,000, City Administrator Randy Blaske suggested seeing what kind of offers they could get.
“We have been kind of kicking it around — whether we keep it or not,” Blaske said. “I think to be fair and check all the waters, let’s surplus it.”
With the right to refuse any and all bids, the city could decide if it was worth selling for the offered amount.
Owensville Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) Director Angela Lairmore suggested surplusing basket lockers pulled from Winter Water Park after the 2019 season. Sealed bids will be accepted for the sale of four basket lockers as individual units with each unit containing 18 baskets.
Lairmore additionally requested approval to sell the locks that went with the lockers separately at the Market in the Park.
Ward 1 Alderman Dan Breeden made the motion to approve surplusing the Jeep Compass with Ward 2 Alderman Matthew Kramme providing a second and the motion receiving unanimous approval. The motion to approve OPRD’s surplus was made by Ward 2 Alderman Denise Bohl and seconded by Board President and Ward 1 Alderman Dr. Cathy Lahmeyer. It passed with all in favor.
