Jackie Joe “Jack” Humphrey, 75, Vienna, passed away Oct. 26, 2021.

He was born June 28, 1946 to Georgia (Leek) Humphrey and Henry E. Humphrey of Dixon. He was the youngest son of the family, which included three brothers Edward, Charles and Jim, plus two sisters Edna and Treva.

Jack was united in marriage to Doris (Hollis) Humphrey June 27, 1964, and to this union four children were born.

He was employed at Westinghouse/ABB for 21 years before medically retiring in 1993. He enjoyed deer and squirrel hunting, growing a vegetable garden, but his favorite past time was crappie fishing. His family always enjoyed when he fried up crappie and hush puppies. Jack knew no stranger. He loved to laugh and tell stories to anyone who would listen, always with a Pepsi in his hand. Jack’s ornery nature, smile and stories, homemade salsa, and dill pickles will be missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his parents H.E. (1997) and Georgia (1996); brother Charles Humphrey (1979); and sister Edna Hudspeth (2021).

He is survived by wife Doris of 57 years; children Randall Humphrey of Vienna; Rhonda Wilks and husband Terry of Rolla; Jeff Humphrey of Plato; and Terri Beam and husband Nathan of St. James; two brothers and one sister all of Dixon; 13 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, with 3 more to arrive in 2022; and friends too numerous to count.

It was prearranged that Jack would be under the care of Rolla Cremation and Memorial, Rolla, upon his passing. A Celebration of Life will be arranged at a later date by his family.
