Juanita Alice Brandhorst, 72, Gerald, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Meramec Nursing Center in Sullivan.
She was born Nov. 6, 1949, to Bruce and Dollie Marjorie (Duty) Turpin in Avondale, W. Va.
She was united in marriage to Robert Brandhorst, Oct. 26, 1996, at Leslie United Methodist Church.
Juanita was a member of Leslie United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening and reading and spending time with her grandchildren. During her working years she did a lot of traveling and especially enjoyed her trip to Israel.
She was preceded in death by parents Bruce and Dollie; sister Wanda Woodie; and brother-in-law Newton Ellis.
She is survived by husband Robert Brandhorst; children Donavon Edwards and wife Lisa of Carrollton, Texas, and Kyle Edwards and wife Julie of Morton, Miss.; grandchildren Kody, Lauren, Sophia, Kayla, Kolton Edwards, Elyssa and Ely Eanes; great-grandchildren Clayton, Payton and Maddie Bynum; sisters Vicki Peterson and husband Jerry of Lancaster, Wis., and Mary Ellis of Frisco, Texas.
Visitation will be Friday, March 18, from 9–11 a.m. at Leslie United Methodist Church with memorial services following with Pastor Mary Nienhueser officiating. Cremains will be interred in the church cemetery.
Memorials suggested to Susan G. Komen, St. Louis Children’s Hospital, Alzheimer’s Association or Leslie Methodist Church.
