Karen Jean Strubberg, 70, Owensville, passed away Monday, Sept. 6, 2021, at her residence.

She was born Nov. 13, 1950, to Herman A. and Lorene (Stradford) Frey in Owensville.

She was united in marriage to Paul Strubberg, Dec. 10, 1966, in Alton, Ill.

Karen really enjoyed traveling, boating and camping. She loved planning trips with her family and special adventures for her grandchildren. She spent her life taking care of her family and making sure everyone was well. She lived her life to the fullest, going on cruises, zip lining with her grandchildren, and para-sailing over islands. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by parents Herman and Lorene; siblings Michael Frey, Roger Frey and Cindy Frey; and brother-in-law Richard Strubberg.

She is survived by husband Paul of the home; children Kimberly McDaniel and husband Joe of Pensacola, Fla., Kelly Scott and husband George of Union and Jamie Burns and husband Aries of Kansas City; siblings Connie Rehmert and husband Richard of Bland, Kathy Strubberg of Union, Scott Frey and wife Nancy of Owensville and Herman Frey Jr. and wife Robin of Blue Springs; and six grandchildren.

Visitation was held Saturday, Sept. 11, from 9-11 a.m. at Gottenstroeter Chapel, Owensville.

Memorial services were held Saturday, Sept. 11, at 11 a.m., at Gottenstroeter Chapel, with Pastor Glenn Duncan officiating.

Memorials requested for family’s choice.
