Kenneth Laverne Tyner, 84, Owensville, passed away Monday, Jan. 20, 2020, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 26, 1935, to Frank A. and Hazel (Chatterton) Tyner, in Shenandoah, Iowa.
He was united in marriage to Pauline Stabley, Dec. 12, 1969, in Springfield.
Kenneth served in the U.S. Army from 1958-1960. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and working as he worked into his 80th year.
He was preceded in death by parents, Frank and Hazel; wife, Pauline; daughter, Deann Smith; brothers, Edward and Frank Tyner Jr.; and sisters, Wanda Gary and Maybelle Sands.
He is survived by sons, Steven Smith and wife Laurel of St. Louis and Kirk Smith of Springfield, Ill.; daughters, Linda Simmons and husband Bob and Adrienna Smith, all of Owensville; brother, James Tyner and wife Nancy of Clermont, Fla.; and nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 11, from 9-11 a.m. at Gottenstroeter Chapel in Owensville followed by services at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks with full military honors.
