The Knights of Columbus donated half of their proceeds from a recent Tootsie Roll sale to area charities. Last Tuesday, Jan. 14, the group met with Bill Schuck, president of Exceptional Equestrians of the Missouri Valley (EE). Schuck said his group would use the $506.80 to continue their equestrian therapy work. The EE facility provides horseback therapy to more than 125 kids each week who live with various disabilities. Shown (left to right) are Mike Schatzler, Craig Nadler, Dennis Boland, Don Vogt, Mark Redhage, John DeBroeck, Jim Greife, Wayne Stallmann, Bill Schuck, Steve Grgurich, and Mark Jasper. An additional $506.80 was sent to the Life Campus in Jefferson City, a training facility for Special Olympics competitors. $2,027.20 of the proceeds from the sale went to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital. The Knights have also been collecting coats for children at Beaufort and Gerald elementary schools.
