Lawrence Douglas Bird, Jr., 77, formerly of Owensville, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022.
He was born Aug. 11, 1944, to Lawrence Douglas Sr., and Beulah Adeline (Norman) Byrd.
He was united in marriage to Dorothy Vanlear, Oct. 8, 1994.
Lawrence served in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed helping people but most of all enjoyed fishing. He took great pride in his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by parents Lawrence Sr. and Beulah; son Lawrence Douglas Byrd III; brothers Tommy D. Byrd, Bobby Eugene Byrd and Billie Ray Byrd; and sisters Lorane Byrd, Betty Mae Ficke and Bonnie Fay Rinegeisen.
He is survived by wife Dorothy; son Roy Lynn Bird of Vermont, step-children Arthur and wife Chris of Poplar Bluff, and Edna and Charles Vanlear of Montana; and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
