Owners of Pioneer Industries, which includes the home center and truss plant in Owensville, have signed a letter of intent to sell their business to Ambassador Supply out of Fort Wayne, Ind.

“After 22 years, Chris and I have agreed to sign a letter of intent with the intent of selling the business known as Pioneer Industries, LLC, which includes Pioneer Home Center and Pioneer Truss,” said Matthew Lenauer on behalf of his brother and co-owner of the local hardware store and truss plant, Chris Lenauer.

Lenauer said he and his brother, Chris, employ nearly 100 full and part-time personnel with an annual payroll of nearly $2 million.

“We should, and hope to, finalize the sale in a couple of weeks,” Lenauer added.

He said both companies were doing their “due diligence” in respect to finalizing the sales agreement. He said he and his brother hope to have the deal completed sometime near Thanksgiving.

Citing their respective letters of intent agreement, Lenauer said he was unable to comment further on the pending sale at this time.
