Dear fellow citizens,

The speaker of the U.S. House, Nancy Pelosi, recently and rightly quoted Ben Franklin-that the government our founders created was “A republic, if you can keep it.” John Adams stated that “Our constitution was made for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” Liberals, progressives and socialists have been trying to change, not keep the rule of law ( a constitutional republic), to a rule of the people (a democracy). The current “impeachment inquiry” process is part of the “tyranny of the majority” our founders feared would happen.

Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff, and other committee chairs have put their morals and religion in  the back seat and have let hatred for the President and worship of government and power do the driving. Why not let the entire House democratically vote to start the inquiry? This would allow the minority to call witnesses and the President’s attorneys to reply to testimony given. This has been the fair process of the past. Does tyranny now rule over fairness?

Impeachment is to be a serious undertaking. Why then did Adam Schiff open with, in his own words, a parody? He had a written copy of the phone call, and so do I. That parody is being believed and repeated as the truth, which it is not. President Zelensky thanked President Trump for his help in the area of defense and is almost ready to buy more Javelins (an anti-tank weapon). It sure doesn’t look like the Ukrainians had any knowledge of funds being withheld, much less in exchange for a “favor.”

Mr. Schiff’s involvement with the “whistle blower” complaint should disqualify him, as he now is a fact witness and should be required to testify before the committee he chairs. How about taking a full house vote on the inquiry and then the minority could require Mr. Schiff to testify? Is this another excuse for not voting? Isn’t Mr. Schiff “making up dirt and lots of it on the President? Nancy, Adam and gang want to control not only the process but also the evidence. The presumption of innocence and exculpatory evidence are being suppressed by the chair.

The powers of each branch of government are defined in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights limits that power over individuals, including the President as he is also a citizen. Conversely so the CEO he is also in charge of federal law  enforcement. Fighting corruption is under his branch of government. Should persons running for public office be exempt from investigation? Why then is Trump being perpetually investigated?

The 2020 election is 13 months away. As things now appear the majority party in the U.S. House is showing how they will govern if allowed to regain control of the senate and presidency. Hopefully there are enough citizens that will stand with the ideas of Ben Franklin and John Adams to keep our republic. The choice is that or a socialist tyranny of the masses.

Sincerely

James R. Krueger
