Library suspends some services due to COVID-19

Posted

Citing the “dramatic increases in new COVID cases and the testing positivity rate in the area,” Scenic Regional Library will be suspending several services across the system until further notice, according to Steven W. Campbell, executive director.

Scenic Regional Library is halting its passport and notary services and will no longer offer “take-a-ticket” training for one-on-one computer help.

“We believe that the close proximity between staff and patrons that is required to perform these services poses an unnecessary health risk to all those involved,” according to Campbell in a media release issued late Monday afternoon. “In addition, also effective today, all job interviews for open positions at the library will be conducted by Zoom. The library will remain open to the public during its normal service hours. The library also continues to offer curbside service for the public at all locations.”
