The Owensville Lions Club donated $2,000 to Gasconade County R-2 School District to assist in purchasing coats for students in need.
Jean Baker, an R-2 Board of Education member and a member of the Owensville Lions Club, presented the check Aug. 15 on behalf of the Lions Club to the district’s Family/School Liaison team members Sam Mangrum and Liz Bruemmer.
“We would like to present to you, on behalf of the Lions Club $2,000 towards your coat fund for students, for this year, next year, maybe the year after —for however long you need it,” Baker said.
Board member Jason Crowe is also a Lion and represented on their behalf.
