Lonnie Dale Hlavaty, 66, Washington, passed away Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Washington.

He was born Sept. 30, 1955, to William and Barbara (Henson) Hlavaty in St. Charles.

He was united in marriage to Christina Walker Sept. 30. 1978, in O’Fallon.

Lonnie attended school in the Fort Zumwalt School District in O’Fallon. He left high school to join the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of Local 513 Operating Engineers and later attended college obtaining an Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies. After college he was employed by Fredman and Fredman Law Office in St. Louis.

He enjoyed all types of music, Cardinal baseball games, TV crime dramas, Gunsmoke, bowling and his grandsons, who he adored.

He was preceded in death by parents William and Barbara; siblings Kelly Wadlow, Sue Ruby and Rudolf Hlavaty.

He is survived by wife Christina “Tina” of their home; daughters Sarah Whisenhunt of St. Louis and Macy Arnote and husband Justin of Vienna; grandsons Caleb Hlavaty of Washington and Ethan LeStarge of Vienna; brother William Hlavaty and wife Cheri of Lake St. Louis; sister Tammy Macher and husband Tom of Collierville, Tenn.; parents-in-law James and Delores Walker of Owensville; brothers-in-law Steve Walker and wife Beth and Reggie Walker of Owensville; and by many other family members including cousins, aunts, uncles and many nieces and nephews. He loved them all.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 25, at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Sullivan officiating. Burial was at Countryside Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
