Lorene Charlotte AufderHeide, 95, Owensville, passed away Monday, Feb. 14, 2022, at Gasconade Manor Nursing Home, Owensville.
She was born Sept. 10, 1926, to Fred P. and Louise C. (Buehrer) Niewald near Rosebud.
She was united in marriage to Henry Charles AufderHeide, May 18, 1952, at St. James United Church of Christ Charlotte.
Lorene was a member of St. James United Church of Christ Charlotte, Bay American Legion Auxiliary and Gasconade County Farm Bureau. During her life, she was a homemaker and farm owner. She also worked part time as a waitress, was an employee at Blanke Plastics, Hermann, Brown Shoe Company, and Custom Printing, Owensville. While her children were young, she volunteered as a Sunday School teacher, vacation bible school worker, and 4-H leader for many years. As hobbies she enjoyed quilting, embroidery and jigsaw puzzles.
She was preceded in death by parents Fred and Louise; husband Henry (April 2008); and brother Leroy Niewald.
She is survived by children Allen AufderHeide and wife Kate of Augusta and Annette Pfeiffer and husband David of Owensville; brother Fred E. Niewald and wife Maxine; grandchildren Morgan (AufderHeide) Keence and husband Anthony of O’Fallon and Matthew Brandt and wife Jackie of Town and Country; and great-grandchildren Everlee Charlotte Keence and Charlotte Alexandra Brandt.
Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 21, from 9–11 a.m. at St. James United Church of Christ, Charlotte, with funeral services following with Rev. Van Lahmeyer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
