Marlene Vandegriffe Johnson, 90, McDonald, Kan., [formerly of Owensville], passed away Friday, June 11, 2021 at Wheat Haven Home.
She was born March 16, 1931, to John Alonzo and Edna Pearl Vandegriffe, in Owensville.
She was united in marriage March 20, 1948, to Raymond L. Johnson, in Atwood, Kan.
Marlene attended Colby Community College. She was a member of McDonald Federated Church and taught pre-school Sunday school class. She loved to share her favorite scriptures.
She was preceded in death by parents, John and Edna; husband, Ray; son, Dave, son-in-law, Ted Bethell, brothers, Roy, George and Ray Vandegriffe; and sisters, Avonell Biles and Iva Fritsch.
She is survived by daughters, Dixie Bethell of McCook, Neb. and Connie Sabatka and husband Brian of McDonald, Kan.; sister, Audry McKinney of Owensville; 11 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandaughter.
