Marvin August Wehmeyer, 82, Rosebud, passed away Sunday, Feb. 16, 2020, at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.
Marvin was born Aug. 14, 1937, to Arnold and Hedwig (Meyer) Wehmeyer, in Rosebud.
He was united in marriage to Geraldine Mary Schneider, Sept. 14, 1963, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Bay
Marvin worked for Chrysler for 27 years and then worked for the city of Rosebud for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, gardening, cutting grass and spending time with family and friends. Marvin was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Rosebud. He served in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by wife, Geraldine; brothers, Arnold, Norman and Clarence Wehmeyer; and sister, Ruth Miller.
He is survived by children, Teresa Wehmeyer of Jefferson City, Matt Wehmeyer and wife Kim of Washington and Jason Wehmeyer of Columbia; sisters, Alice Belloir of Roseburg, Ore., Florence Belloir of Owensville, Evelyn Bohl of Rosebud and Marcille Winter and husband Melvin of Crosby, Texas; grandchildren, Sara Schatz and fiancé Dalton Baldwin of Jefferson City and Ashley Freund and fiancé Tony Dodson of Union; great-grandchildren, Kai and Madison Dodson of Union; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and others relatives.
Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 20, from 4-8 p.m. at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville. Funeral services will be Friday, Feb. 21, at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rosebud with Pastor Bill Liebman officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Rosebud.
