A High Ridge, Mo., family’s April 24 trip to visit family south of Owensville ended up in flames but no injuries they stopped for lunch at McDonald’s. Mitchell Steinkuehler said he was in line ordering food when flames erupted from underneath the hood of his 2007 Mazda. He pulled out of line into a parking space and he and his wife, Kelsie, and children Jaxon, 5, Kimber, 2, and Stella, 7 months, all escaped safely. Owensville firemen quickly extinguished the fire. Steinkuehler said the car had a small, but persistent, oil leak for several years.
