Melody Hill, 67, Holts Summit passed away peacefully with family by her side Thursday, June 16, 2022, at University Hospital, Columbia.

She was born Jan. 21, 1955, to the late Loren and Marion (Cross) Pyle in San Diego, Calif.

She was united in marriage to William Hill, in 1978, in Seoul, South Korea.

After graduating from high school in 1973, Melody enlisted in the U.S. Army. She served overseas in Germany and South Korea. After 20 years of dedicated service, Melody retired in 1994 having achieved the rank of supply sergeant. She then attended Drury University graduating with a Masters Degree in Fine Arts and Education and began her second career as a middle school English teacher in the Belle school district until retiring in 2011.

Melody loved taking her grandkids on trips to Branson. She also loved her rescue cats and always made sure they were well taken care of. Whether it was making Hearts for Heroes, knitting, scrapbooking, painting, pottery or making jewelry, Melody loved making all different types of crafts.

She was preceded in death by parents Loren and Marion.

She is survived by husband Bill of Holts Summit; children Jason Hill and wife Misty of New Bloomfield, Heather Hill and Veronika Hodosiova of St. Louis, Morgan Hill of Jefferson City; grandchildren Jacob, Macy, Dorian and Aiden Hill; and sisters Roberta Daniels and husband Roger of Crossville, Tenn., Lorenda Villines of San Diego, Calif., Robin Galloway of New Bloomfield and Danita Berg and husband Bob of Rolla.

Private family services will be held.
