Melva E. Sheldon, 83, Hermann, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at Boone Hospital in Columbia.
She was born Jan. 8, 1937, to John Ishmael and Katheryn Jean (Howard) Kronk, in the Chamois area.
She was united in marriage to Sam Sheldon, Sept. 23, 1995.
Melva attended many schools including Osage County R-1 in Chamois. She was a cosmetologist, owning and operating beauty shops in the Chamois and Hermann areas. She later worked at Sally’s Beauty Supply in Jefferson City and Loutre Market in the Hermann area. She was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Hermann and also the Hermann VFW Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by parents, John and Katheryn; and grandson, Ryan.
She is survived by children, Rhonda Nichols Mitchem and husband Delmar of Chamois, Sherri Nichols Holtgrewe of Jefferson City and Eric Nichols and wife Susan of Portland; sisters, Carole Stewart and Charlotee Schaperclaus; and three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held and announced at a later date. Memorial contributions suggested to Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church or Hermann VFW Auxiliary.
