Minnie Mae Payton, 94, Owensville, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019, at her home.

She was born Jan. 1, 1925, to Charles and Maggie (Young) Duncan, in Owensville.

She was united in marriage to Samuel E. Payton, Nov. 21, 1942, in Bland.

After World War II, Minnie and her husband, Everett managed The Y Cafe at Rosebud with family members. Later, she worked as a stamper at Brown Shoe Company in Owensville. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Owensville. She collected Precious Moments and enjoyed gardening, yard work and taking care of her dog, Buster.

She was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Maggie; husband, Samuel; siblings, Clyde Duncan, Laverne Duncan, Ruth Gillman, Ronald Duncan and Ruby Jett and Opal Jones.

She is survived by many nieces, nephews and her church family.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 9, at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home Chapel in Owensville with Rev. Kevin Sullivan officiating. 

Burial was in Countryside Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Owensville.
